Paisley Chivas workers give £7,000 to youth football

WHISKY workers in Paisley have handed £7,000 over to a youth football club charity which is backed by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Chivas Brothers, which has its global HQ in Renfrew Road, donated the cash to Harmony Row Youth Club in Glasgow.
As part of the firm’s charity policy, all employees from across 28 sites were invited to nominate a charity of their choice for the five annual donations, which have been increased to £7,000 for this year.
A total of £35,000 has been presented to the five leading charities chosen by Chivas Brothers employees in their five main areas – which are Paisley, Dumbarton, Edinburgh, Speyside and London.
Staff at the Paisley site voted overwhelmingly for Harmony Row Youth Club, following a campaign by a member of staff to encourage colleagues to support them.
