What has more calories beer or scotch?
Question by Chris S: What has more calories beer or scotch?
I typically drink macallan single malt 12 if it matters. Or how much is the calories per unit of alcohol? I tried looking in the internet but to no avail. If it was asked before, please redirect me thanks.

Can’t say but a standard 1.5 oz shot of scotch has about 75 calories, while a “shot” of beer would certainly have less. It all depends on the amount.

by volume, scotch. A shot of scotch has more calories than a shot of probably any beer. If you are talking about by the serving, than it depends on what beer. a shot and a 12 ozbeer have about the same amount of liquor, but a 12oz beer can range from a relatively low 64 calories to into the 400 calorie range for some cask beers
