@S04fan96 You are so far wrong it’s scary. The Irish folk song is largely the same Lizzy nicked it and changed a few words that’s all.Phil Lynott sings” worked for my daddio”. The Original words were Wac fol ma daddio.It was a folk club fave before Thin Lizzy did it. Have to say i love this version.Brilliant lead guitar.

@Frankvbussel Still, maksphoto78 is right, this might as well be one of the first if not THE first. Hotel California is late 70′s and Freebird mid 70′s, while Thin Lizzy did it on 1972. Regardless of that, both Freebird and Hotel California might as well be some of the greatest songs I’ve ever hear and probably the best I will ever listen to.(Yes Zep fan boys, I’m saying that FOR ME this songs are better than Stairway)
