My Day in Northern Ireland (Part One)

Shot on August 14, 2008. My journey to the Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland begins at Carrickfergus Castle. The next stop is in the small village of Carnlough with its picturesque harbour on the shores of Carnlough Bay. My tour continues over the Glendun Viaduct known as the Big Bridge by the Glens people. It spans the river Dun in the center of the glen providing a very scenic view. Next I walk across the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge which spans a chasm of some eighty feet to the tiny Carrick Island. After a quick stop at Old Bushmills Distillery it is on to the Giant’s Causeway which is an area of about 40000 interlocking basalt columns that resulted from an ancient volcanic eruption.
